John Severin - The Mad Cartoonists - part 13

Week number 4 of my 4 week 16 part sharing of the first 4 issues of "Mad" the comic book from 1952-53 and the four cartoonists who laid the way for the next half century of humorists.

Harvey Kurtzman began "Mad" with four stallwart penmen. Jack Davis, Wally Wood, Bill (Will) Elder and the last name which may not be as familiar to you, John Severin.

After you see his work over the next few days, you'll wonder why.

Mad #1, "Varmint!".

Emjoy it in full color glory!

John is a master penman. He just needs a better publicist.

Talk to you soon.
