Basil Wolverton's "Culture Corner"

As way of celebrating my awesome Basil Wolverton Zippo lighter acquisition yesterday (see previous post) I've dug into whatever Wolverton work I may have. At first glance there are these wonderful "Culture Corner" 1/2 pages he did for Fawcett Comics' "Whiz Comics" back in the late 1940's.

These are the one's I just happened to already have labeled. Stay plugged in to future blogs for more.

Enjoy!

Talk to you soon.

Glad to see you posting these. I planned to do the whole Culture Corner run over @ Ten Cent Dreams, but, now that I have pulled the plug on that blog it is clear that space abhors a vacuum. Most of the Whiz comics can be downloaded from Digital Comic Museum (you knew that, I'm guessing). This stuff is great because it shows that Rube Goldberg kinda abstract thought that later made Mad magazine and its copycats so popular.

Lys, I'm happy to take this on, especially if was fitting for your "TCD" blog. Sorry to hear the accountants over at "Blogger" forced your hand. I for one miss it greatly.
