Hands, Feet and Clothing!

Jack Hamm's "Cartooning the Head and Figure" moves past just that in our next chapter.

Now that he's laid down the skinny on heads and figures, it's time to accentuate with those physical punctuation marks of the hands, the feet and the clothing.

This really was a well thought out and detailed book.  That Jack Hamm was alright if you ask me.

And even if you don't.

More to come.  The head and figure were just the beginning.

Talk to you soon.

Lord, the hours upon hours I spent with this book, desperately trying to make my scratching look like the magical work of jack Hamm. To say I didn't come close doesn't quit express the gulf that existed between Hamm and my efforts.

I still stare at that book sometimes, trying to figure out the alchemy - how so few lines can be a perfectly expressed face or hand.

I still feel a stab of intimidation whenever I see this book.

I hadn't realized what a prominent book this was until I started posting it. I missed the book in my formative years and was just recently given this copy.

Blogging not only shows others the things you have, but sometimes show tem to you. Hmm.

I like it!
