The Sports Cartoon!

My posting of Jack Hamm's "Cartooning the Head and Figure" continues for it's final week and today is the second to the last.

Today's chapter: "The Sports Cartoon!".

The sports cartoon was an integral and important thing in the first half of the 20th century and there was a good living to be made doing them for newspapers.  Seems like a curiosity now, but a valuable skill nonetheless.  The figure in action is as concrete a cornerstone of knowledge as you can get.
