"Black and Blue Hawks!" - Mad Mondays!

"Mad Monday" everyone, and continueing my sharing of "Mad" the comic book #5, here's Harvey Kurtzman and Wally Wood's take on Quality Comics "Blackhawks", "Black and Blue Hawks!".

I love Wood. But especially when he does superhero humor.

We can learn soooooooooo much from this genius who was just trying to pay the bills.

Talk to you soon.

  1. Page #6 is missing. I hope its not because that page was politically incorrect. Most of what
Wally Wood did wasn't P.C. - It was just great.

  2. Fixed, Anony!...and THANKS! Neverfear, PC or not PC it is never a consideration with me or this blog. It was missing because I'm a lousy proof reader. :/

  3. Wally Wood illustrated SO many things that stirred
the imagination: Cars, Planes, Women, Space ships,
Women,.... In a piece called "Sound Effects" Wally
invented a cool gun. Its a cross between a Luger,
a Walther P-38, and a Mauser Broom handle. Boss
Hawk uses that model on page six. Thank you for
finally including it. (REALLY COOL GUN)

  6. One of my earliest recollections of the poor hapless Alpha Male being topped by a gorgeous opponent.
