Carl Anderson's "Henry" - Nemo #26 part 3

Those pantomime comics strips like Otto Soglow's "The Little King" and Carl Anderson's "Henry" are in a class by themselves. It takes a totally different skill set to pull off a gag with no words, and though they're few and far between, may be a more true form with a stronger tie to the cave drawings of our ancestors. Telling the story through action and reaction alone.

They not only have a great international appeal because they don't rely on language, but they're the first strips that we as youngsters can enjoy before we know how to read.

Here's Nemo's look at the work of Carl Anderson and a few samples of his long-lived "Henry".

Enjoy.
