Today I share with you part two of "Nemo: the Classic Comics Library" #22...
...the back end of this issue is heavy with some introspection on and examples of the work of the prolific Jimmy Swinnerton. For part one click here.
From Little Jimmy to Mr. Jack to Canyon Kiddies and his love of the American South West, James Swinnerton had a real love of relating everything he loved into pen and ink. A true natural, his work is genuinely worth drinking in.
Love these early Newspaper Comic Pages ! True Crafstmen, through & through ! Thanx for keepn their Memories alive ! (I can't wait to download all these Nemo posts by a warm fire over the X-mas Holiday)
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing that their work can make you nostalgic for a time you never knew.
ReplyDeleteI gotta get to work on that time machine so I can get back to when EVERYTHING was cool.
As Lysdexicuss has said, thanks for cataloging days of glory. Nemo is so badly missed, as are newspaper comics of the quality of Little Jimmy. When you find the Time Machine, I expect notification.
