Goodbye to Walt Disney's First Star

Virginia Davis: December 31, 1918-August 15, 2009.

In 1923, in Kansas City, MO., a young Walt Disney was seeking a film series to produce through his newly founded Laugh-O-Gram company. He decided to do a series involving a live action little girl who would jump into his animated world and interact with animated characters, "Alice in Cartoonland".

Before Mickey. Before Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. There was Virginia Davis.

I found out a few days late, that Virginia had passed away this past Saturday. Let's watch some of her work.

Goodbye Virginia. Congratulations on a long life.

You make Hannah Montana seem like a piker!

You'll be missed.
